Updates from Room 201

It’s a short week AND Halloween Week!  I have several Halloween related learning activities that we will be doing all week with some extra Halloween fun planned for Friday.  Remember students ARE ALLOWED to wear their costumes to school.  This will help everyone from congregating in the bathrooms to get their costumes on.  Please keep costumes for school simple and wear the more elaborate ones at home.

We are still in need of 19 plain cake donuts.  I have two spots open to send in 10.  Please sign up if you are able.

Post-It Notes

Thank you for sending in the post-it notes.  These are helpful, and needed, to jot down notes for our tricky words, questions we have, predictions we make, and retelling of each chapter.

Homework

  • Reading logs are due by Friday.  Students who read for 100 minutes each week and logged it, will receive a coupon for a free reading time during the month of November.
  • Continue practicing math facts.  We are testing every Friday on speed and accuracy.  Please take 5-10 minutes a night to practice flashcards or go on flashtopass.  Papers will come home on Tuesday telling which fact your child is on, but I bet they already know! 🙂
  • Beginning this week, there will be a 2-3 page math packet that will come home each Monday and will be due the following Monday.  This will be work that we learned the week prior.
